Renewables to Soar 84% by 2030 — Qn-SOLAR Is Ready to Lead

According to BloombergNEF’s latest New Energy Outlook, global renewable power generation is expected to grow by 84% over the next five years. This rapid growth reflects strong momentum in the clean energy transition. However, it’s accompanied by surging electricity demand driven by the expansion of data centers, the rise of electric vehicles, and continued global economic growth. By 2050, global electricity use is projected to increase by 75%, with data centers alone expected to consume nearly 9% of total electricity—nearly double today’s share.

 

Renewables Poised to Lead the Global Energy Mix

Despite rising demand, renewables are catching up fast. Clean energy sources are projected to provide 67% of global electricity by mid-century, a dramatic leap from 33% in 2024. Solar PV stands out as one of the most scalable and cost-competitive options, increasingly paired with battery storage and intelligent grid solutions. These systems not only improve resilience and reduce emissions but also offer greater flexibility to meet time-sensitive and location-specific energy needs. Wind and hydropower will complement solar’s growth, but solar remains the anchor technology of a decentralized, digitalized, and decarbonized power grid.
